Candy the Cow by Mike Dineen © Mike Dineen 2009

Candy_1

Candy the Cow
Candy was a Cow
who liked to go to dances,
and could be seen upon the floor,
attracting bullish Dances

'Cause when Candy moved to Music
played by "the Bovine Crew"
She's stamp her hooves upon the floor
and rhythimaclly moo.

She knew "the Mashed potatoe",
and also did the twist,
she did beautiful belly dancing,
which the young bulls never missed

She did classical and modern,
and from time to time, she tangoed,
or she cancaned like the French cows,
and like Spanish cows Fandagoed,

But when the "Bovine Crew"
began to play a suzy Q
there came from Candy's vocal chords,
a small excited...... Mooo

She quickly put her tap shoes on,
and smiled a little smile,
and Suzy-Qd
around the room,
with cowly grace and style.

First Candy she did time steps,
and followed them with flaps,
the rhythm of the music,
was echoed by Candy's taps.

But this Rhythm, it got faster,
until young Candy dropped,
and a deathly silence followed,
for the music also stopped.

A crowd had quickly gathered,
around Candy's prostrate shape,
till a young bull pushed his way right through,
All those who had come to gape.

"I am a vet," said he to them,
"you must all let me through,
as I'm the only one here,
who knows just what to do!"

And he pressed his lips to Candy's,
and gently gave a kiss,
Candy's eyes, they fluttered open,
as soon as he did this.

And the others at the dance,
they couldn't quite make out,
the success of what the vet had done,
What looked like "mouth to mouth".

But these days when she goes dancing,
Candy knows it to be true:
Dancing alone is not much fun,
'tis better when there's two.

And the heifers have all started,
to do their imitation,
of what is called "The Candy Drop",
the latest dance sensation

Well, music in General, but two specific songs come up.........
1 the Greatest love of all- (not sure if is a cover or an original version by Whitney Houston) but the lyrics inspired me to make a big change in my life especially "I decided long ago, never to walk in anyones shadow, if I fail, if I succeed, at least I live as I believe" and "I've found the greatest love of all inside of me."
Hear it here And "I believe Children are our future"
"Learning to love yourself is the greatest love of all"

Desolation-a poem by Mike Dineen

Posted on Feb 18th, 2009 by Mikey_Dee : A hoot and The frumious Bandersnatc Mikey_Dee

Desolation

What is good for you, kills me,
A floating feather from a nested tree.

Beckoning finger, bent with agéd disease,

unsightly scab covering unsavory pus,

A smile, undressed becomes a grimace

Hope, a candle , blows out in a stray wind.

"When you feel the winds of change,

Build windmills, and not windbreaks,

That ye may taste the sweet acid of success".

Trees, leafless, sky, cloudless,

Land, dry, on which a tumbleweed tumbles

to add to the DESOLATION.

"All we need now is the cry of the whipoorwill...",

cries the whipoorwill, "... to add to the desolation".

And to add to the destruction,

came a disease which hit the weak.

Real men laughed, racists howled with glee,

And Blood flowed thick and free.

And free and thick, did the people chortle with mirth.

The fire begins to spread like whispered gossip,

Stained sheets, smothered giggles, ecstatic sweat

And blissful followed sleep

Bear the only testaments

to a land that was green and young,

once

And the whipoorwill cries to add to the desolation

THE END

What is one thing that there are no words for?

Posted on Feb 20th, 2009 by Mikey_Dee : A hoot and The frumious Bandersnatc Mikey_Dee
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for February 20, 2009:

Cupid
I have just had a friend over for tea & her 8yr old boy's girlfriend just said "I love you" to him today. There is no word to describe his emotion on hearing this, or for anyones state on hearing the words "I love you" spoken by a romantic partner for the first time. Any ideas?

Listening to Nature -a seasonal poem about change by Mike Dineen

Posted on Feb 20th, 2009 by Mikey_Dee : A hoot and The frumious Bandersnatc Mikey_Dee
Animal_gathering
A sparrow sang softly on a sycamore tree,
a sweet song of sorrow,
a  melancholy melody,

"Hush" , said the hedgehog,
hiding his head,
"Winter may be coming
and the leaves may all be dead,
But Spring will follow Winter,
And buds will soon appear,
And blossoms bloom,
and green will grow,
And flowers will give perfume".

Miss Squirell sighed quite sleepily,
"this year Winter seems so long,
And my sleep is interupted,
by that sparrow with his song.

I have to get my beauty sleep,
So next Spring I'll appear,
All bright-eyed and bushy-tailed,
to greet the brand New Year"

And way up North, where there is snow,
the whole year on the ground,
From deep within a frosty cave,
was heard a rumbling sound....

"What is that song that I can hear?",
the Polarbear did Growl,
But he was much too far to hear,
the Answer of the owl

Now this owl is known for wisdom
and rarely wastes his words.
He's known to be the cleverest,
and smartest of all birds.

"That song you hear,
my distant friend,
that song was carried on the wind,
So you might learn
that we down here,
Do not have snow,
for all the year.

We get sunshine,
we get rain,
and gentle breezes
wax & wain.

These are things
you'll never know,
you, who live
with constant snow.

So here, when
 Winter lasts too long,
the sparrow sings
that same sad song.

But way beneath
those notes so sad,
We hear a song
of times we've had

And though the song
is sad , you see,
We hear beneath melancholy.

For deep inside,
we're all quite glad,
to mourne the Winter,
And feel sad.

Cause coming soon,
without delay
We'll all wake up
to greet the day,

When Sun will shine,
And flowers will dance,
And tears will dry,
and fawns will prance

And Sweet songs will be sung
and heard,
a different note,
from every bird.

Then Mister Polarbear,
you'll hear,
A song
of happiness and cheer.

I hope you're happy in that land,
of snow & ice,
and understand.....

that when you hear
the sparrow's song,
the Spring will join us
before long."

Illusion_fleches2
How we see the world or anything or anyone or any situation is, in my opinion, a question of the choice(s) we make, consider this graphic, what do you see? are the arrows going up or down? you decide for yourself, as you decide whether you see a chalenge as a problem or as an opportunity.

Major scientific discovery

New Entrant in the Periodic Table

Research has led to the discovery of the heaviest element yet known to science. The new element, Governmentium (Gv), has one neutron, 25 assistant neutrons, 88 deputy neutrons, and 198 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 312.

These 312 particles are held together by forces called morons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called peons. Since Governmentium has no electrons, it is inert; however, it can be detected, because it impedes every action with which it comes into contact.

A minute amount of Governmentium can cause a reaction that would normally take less than a second to take from four days to four years to complete. Governmentium has a normal half-life of 2-6 years; it does not decay, but instead undergoes a reorganization in which a portion of the assistant neutrons and deputy neutrons exchange places.

In fact, Governmentium's mass will actually increase over time, since each reorganization will cause more morons to become neutrons, forming isodopes. This characteristic of moron promotion leads some scientists to believe that Governmentium is formed whenever morons reach a critical concentration. This hypothetical quantity is referred to as critical morass. When catalyzed with money, Governmentium becomes Administratium, an element that radiates just as much energy as Governmentium since it has half as many peons but twice as many morons.

A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have.
-Thomas Jefferson

I used to be a happy healthy body and now look at the sorry state I'm in- Let this be a warning to all you healthy, happy, flexible, toned bodies seeing me. A few wrong choices later and you can turn into this crippled, unbalanced, sad, unhealthy body too. Treat your body well and like the temple it is.
