Seriously well!

Posted on Nov 10th, 2009 by Mikey_Dee : A hoot and The frumious Bandersnatc Mikey_Dee
Autopsy
For a time I was seriusly ill, now I'm seriosly well!
As the final year med students gathered around the real human dead body, for the first time ever, Professor Mulcahy , spoke clearly, " The first two things you'll need to learn when examining a corpse are as follows:
"1. Get over your sense of disgust & revulsion", ( At this he sticks his finger in the corpse's anus, takes it out and puts his finger in his mouth)
"Now your turn!"
The med students lined up and did the same.
" when the last student left the corpse, Professor Mulcahy added, "2, you need a developed sense of observation- you will, of course have noticed that I put my index finger in the body, and then put my ring finger in my mouth".
Some students passed that year, others passed out!

stressed?

Posted on Nov 12th, 2009 by Mikey_Dee : A hoot and The frumious Bandersnatc Mikey_Dee

STRESS
I am not sure exactly how this works, but this is amazingly accurate.

The picture below has two identical dolphins in it. It was used in a case study on stress levels at the Mayo Clinic and later at Fletcher Medical Center in Burlington.

Look at both dolphins jumping out of the water. The dolphins are identical.. A closely monitored, scientific study revealed that, in spite of the fact that the dolphins are identical; a person under stress will find many differences between the two dolphins.

The more differences a person finds, the more stress that person is experiencing.

Look at the photograph below and if you find more than one or two differences you may need to take a vacation.

A blind date & A funny story

Posted on Nov 23rd, 2009 by Mikey_Dee : A hoot and The frumious Bandersnatc Mikey_Dee

Yesterday, I was invited to participate in a presentation of Singers/performers/ mostly chorists who live with handicaps ( like me) & go on anyway/ The Lady organising the event told me there was a private bus leaving from a certain address @ 8h45 in the morning. When I got there I discovered that I would be travelling with a group of Blind singers to our destination outside of Paris. I got there on time, got on the bus & listened to these people complaining sweetly about how "sighted people" treated them sometimes. Several said that well-meaning Sighted people would sometimes "show " them the way by grabbing their cane, others told stories of people coming up to them, saying "Careful" & giving no further details- This, for obvious reasons, was upsetting, Later on in the afternoon these people sang beautifully & read their sheet music in Brail. Other participants were in wheelchairs or had other less-obvious handicaps, but all sang in harmony & Joy -Then the organiser introduced the "special guests" of whom there were 3.
1. A young man who had been hit by a car on the way to a choir rehersal, remaining in hospital for 6 months.
2. An older gentleman who was/is blind but who directs a choir exclusively made up of blind and/or partially sighted people.

3. Me, an actor/performer cut down in my tracks due to a sudden attack of Meningitic Encephalitis- & unable to get paid work since then. ( I made them all laugh & those in wheelchairs were especially appreciative as I told them that I had relearned to walk & had left my wheelchair behind & gone on to danse tango & direct plays.

My little intervention went down so well that I  am now tempted to refine it & make a show of it- We'll see
