Cole Swensen, Pierre Joris, & 174 other poets have already posted! I just sent mine off, and wanted to ask you all to try and help them reach their goal of 350 poems relating to climate change by tonight. If we can do nothing else for the environment, why not this, a few words??? In fact, I really have enjoyed perusing the short poems!!!
email your poem with your name to 350poems@gmail.com before midnight of 24 Oct 2009 Oh, and pass on the info!!!! Best, Jen Dick

Hi all,
I'm inviting you to take part in a project I am helping organize called 350Poems.
For the project, 350 poets in the United States and abroad are being asked to write a 3.5 line poem–in a language of their choosing– in response to climate change. Why 350? Because that's the agreed-on safe upper limit for carbon parts-per-million in the atmosphere (we're at 390 & rising, close to the point where irreversible climate shifts will take place). 350.org is mobilizing climate actions across the country for October 24th – more than 4,000 events (including this one) in over 160 different countries. The idea is that by participating, and forwarding actions like these to close ones around you, we are embedding the number 350 in the popular consciousness – so that our governmental leaders will be pressured to shoot for it, specifically, as a meaningful and ambitious target.
Why 3.5 lines?
For whatever reason you find. For me, it's because there are such real constraints (political & otherwise) that we are facing.
Email your poems, anytime between now and the 24th, to: 350poems@gmail.com" target="_blank">350poems@gmail.com. They'll be posted on the site in the order in which they come.
And please forward to others that you think would be like to participate.
