Lessons in love
1 AND 1 ADD UP TO 2
basic math for me and you,
But Love is known to bend the rules,
and I suggest they teach in schools:
that here on earth, beneath the sun
sometimes 1 plus 1 is 1.
And stranger still but also fine,
When 1 PLUS 1 makes 69,

And joy is born for he and she,
when 1 PLUS 1 adds up to 3.
And if they love each other more,
then 1 PLUS ONE CAN COME TO 4.
But at last, when all is said and done,
ideally we all are..........

Mike,
You are so clever! I loved reading every line of this poem. I smiled from start to finish.
Hugs!
-Susan
Thank you Mike for your lessons in Love, important lessons for us all with a twist of fun, (Love Is fun !) . Yes we are One under One Sky, thanks for the reminder.
And of course, I couldn't resist adding a little rhyme fun myself:
from four to five to six and seven
magic number, we are in heaven
but however much we may like it up above
we must bring heaven on earth through Love
so us being One, and Mickey is right,
will make our love truly shine bright.
And for the minors amongs us….may I ask with candor
can I safely assume number 69 stands for
Moonchildren's sun sign needing a 90 degrees tilt to the right
so our soft moonbeams can shine their pretty light..? !
Alluvja, indeed, the cancer sign is often depicted as a 69- IF THAT's what you see, that's fine & thank you for those extra rhymes
Thanks for inviting me here, Mike. Interesting and clever, indeed! Your play with words and so on….and interjecting something that in my youth would be considered a little too risque! [or perhaps I'm just prudish].
I'm glad I'm old enough not to get totally shocked, though!!!!
Meenakshi, you're prolly more discerning than prudish- is 69 in the KamaSutra? (perhaps in a more acceptable version)
Ideally this should visually be seen as a simple addition that adds up to 1- dd anyone see that?
Very clever, Mike, but here is something for you to find a place for: apparently mathematics teachers can prove that 0 + 0 = 1.
:-)
Lovely song too! Yours? You?
MIKEy! I suddenly realized–69 is yin-yang! So naturally it is one.
That is amazing; and I'd better put the shadow that brought out my prudishness to rest, now!
How graciously you accepted my comment. I bow to that inner light that makes you so light-hearted!
YES!
ah! i'm glad you brought me back here so I could appreciate the insightfulness of this.
THANKS NICOLE, it takes one to know one
Mikey_Dee,
Lucky me to find this poem in time for Earth Day week. Yes, I'm quite familiar myself with ”1 PLUS 1 adds up to 3. … then 1 PLUS ONE CAN COME TO 4.” That is where my family is now and will remain the remainder of my lifetime, I hope.
And all together, the sum of humanity, we are the whole that is one, as you so well illustrate with these lyrical words.
